Discovery Management
This section covers how to manage discovery on integrated BMC Discovery appliance with uManage → Discovery Management.
Overview
Discovery management in uControl will import subnet information by either a CSV import or manually inputting the data into the UI. From there, uControl will use a selected BMC Discovery appliance to run sweep scans of the configured subnets. Once completed the results of these subnet scans are imported into the uControl database. Deep scans based on these restuls can then be scheduled and run with only the responding IP addresses scanned. This allows you to run large subnet scans and only pass the responding IP addresses to a full discovery cutting down the required scan window to process the scan in BMC Discovery.
