Create and assign applications

Applications need to be defined in uControl then assigned to the owner to complete the application model - Eg. Linking hosts / servers and the software that identifies the application. uControl is able to assign applications to individual people or teams of people (That are also defined within uControl).

Creating an application Definition

  1. Login to uControl as an administrator
  2. Navigate to Modules → uMap → Manage Applications
  3. Click the Add function on the displayed table
  4. Enter in the required information including Application Name, Application ID, Description, Review Date and Modelling Type
  5. Assign Users and / or Group to the application
  6. Click "Create"

Standard Application

By selecting a modelling type of "Standard" models will be created in a standard format of BusinessApplicationInstance → BusinessApplicationInstance (Environment) → Software → Host

TrueSight Application

By selecting a modelling type of "TSOM" models will be created in a standard format of BusinessApplicationInstance → BusinessApplicationInstance (Environment) → Functional Component → Software → Host
