To migrate applications from uControl version 6 to uControl version 7 you can use the "Import V6 Model" tool to automate the migration of uMap applications.

The import of an application will auto create the application, environments and link the configuration items. It will then be up to an administrator to assign the application to an owner, validate the application and publish to BMC Discovery.

All uMap schema types and BusinessApplicationInstance will need to be active and imported to enable the use of the V6 model importer


  1. Navigate to Modules → uMap → Import V6 Model
  2. Select one or more applications from the table and click "Import"
  3. Enter the application name, description and application ID.
  4. Results of the import are shown in the table per CI type imported.
  5. Navigate to Modules → uMap → Manage Applications and view the imported application.
