Define mapping definitions for BMC Discovery

Mapping definitions determine which attributes from BMC discovery populate which attributes in the uControl core asset DB. By default non are mapped and this will need to be completed before anything will get imported to uControl from BMC Discovery.

Setup Default Mapping of Attributes

1. Navigate to Administration → Integration → BMC Discovery → Mapping
2. Select Host from the table and select "Map Fields"
3. Select "Map Defaults"
4. Once mappings are loaded for Host close the table
5. Select MFPart from the table and select "Map Fields"
6. Select "Map Defaults"

Add attribute mapping

To add a non default mapping or setup mappings manually:

1. Navigate to Administration → Integration → BMC Discovery → Mapping
2. Select a CI type from the table and select "Map Fields"
3. Select the "Add" icon from the table

4. Select the datasource file and Asset field 

   If adding a datasource file where there in no default asset field, select the "plus" icon next to the Asset field dropdown to add a new asset field.

5. Click "Create"
